Founded by Bakari Waziri Yusuph was born in Kibaya, Kiteto in Manyara region. The area was the most remote area in the country where the communities practice small scale agriculture with less development of education and progress in developmental models. Bakari never thought to go to school to a certain higher level that would integrate him into the real world. After his primary eduction in his village the second extended family of his transfered him to Arusha for life of which he was lucky to be connected to the real world. Bakari succeeded to join secondary school and high level secondary school with the support of a friend from USA kelly Martin together with her family husband Miguel, Parents Kathy and Doug Martin, Cousin Maryclaire Grace and friends who made sure that Bakari achieve his education and dreams in life.

After his schooling in high school he started the journey of his own life hustling for what he discovered could take him into another level of life. He first statrted working as a bus contactor in the city and later he bought his own daladala (Hiace) that take passangers to different locations in the city for their daily routines of life and social businesses. He invested his smaller incomes from the daladala and later sold the hiace to associate with his income then he started a company of his own. He then later started a business of tour company and travelling agent for clients from various parts of the world coming to Tanzania to discover the potentials of African safari and tales of the living cultures in African societies. When the business was growing he used part of his fortunes he earned from his tour company to give back to the community. He also started the idea of vulunteers in education and health issues in the localities of Arusha of which later the idea of having a foundation came in. He used his fortune to establish a foundation that would touch the lives of the people from the marginalized and vulnerable societies, so the name for Progress for Africa Foundation came and it started to operate in the areas around Arusha. Progress for Africa Foundation organization is a non religious, nonprofit and nonpolitical organization founded in 2014 based in Arusha Tanzania which is bringing together the work of local population and international volunteers of which it believes in civil society as the primary source of change and development. The main goal of the organization is to contribute to reach a decent state of well being for the neighbors in our community by making sure that their basic needs are met and covered.
