PROGRESS SCHOOL CENTER, are committed to promote high quality education and related services in order to ameliorate people’s livelihoods in Tanzania as well as there where is needed.

WHERE AS Sustainable Poverty Reduction is the ultimate and overall development goal of Tanzanian government;

AND CONSIDERING that the basic causes of inequality in Tanzania are, among others, related to lack of education;

CONSCIOUS of the importance of a good quality education and the positive impact it causes in society;

CONSCIOUS of the existence in Tanzania of a number of organizations, individual and associations desirous to promote effective management of the said services through community based national and regional strategies;

BEING AWARE that Civil Society has a duty and, indeed, an obligation of demanding those services as well as the right to enjoy them in order to have their rights recognized, and;

MINDFUL of the fact that it is desirable that the population of Tanzania participates in the Organization’s activities as a way of helping to the fulfillment and resolution of the aforementioned aspects.

PROGRESS FOR AFRICA FOUNDATION” hereinafter referred to as “PFAF”or shall be a non-political, independent, non-religious, non-profit making Organization. It shall maintain neutrality in politics and religion, and shall not be affiliated to any political party or to any religious group.

Registration

The Organization shall be registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002, enacted by the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania and amended in 2005.

Head office

The head office of the Organization shall be in Arusha, Tanzania unless otherwise agreed by the Management Team.

We believe in the recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all human beings through freedom, justice and peace. We believe in self-determination, ownership, autonomy and empowerment of people.

We respect Universal Human Rights within all human beings, without any type of discrimination, and we promote people’s voices as it is ensured in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and believe in equality for all human beings.

  • We believe in horizontal collaboration among the Organization´s members, and among the Organization´s members and the beneficiaries of the projects which the Organization develops.
  • We accept and agree to monitor and assist the fulfilment of The Non-Governmental Organizations Code of Conduct, 2008, included on The Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002.
  • All members are committed to cooperate with other charitable organizations, Foundations, and NGOs by providing any information which allows them to choose the best way to proceed, based on the achievements made by Progress for Africa Foundation.
