EDUCATIONS AT ALL LEVELS

Select any educational level; Childcare, kindergartens, Pre & Primary, Secondary and High Schools in Tanzania.

You will support schools by teaching or working as a teacher assistant, in any subject you excel in, but experience in teaching is beneficial. You will assist the teachers with the classes, mark homework and help them to enhance their lesson plans. Native speakers of English, French or Spanish can help and assist the teacher of these languages or even teach independently. You can make a difference for the students by making posters in the classes, telling stories, singing songs… whatever you can offer. English speaking is required because lessons are taught in English.

PRACTICE IN HOSPITALS / MEDICAL + DENTAL / HEALTHCARE;

You will be helping doctors at the hospitals, and practice your medical skills. You will be assisting a doctor in any field in which you have specialized. Most Tanzanians have teeth problems, due to the lack of dentists, so if you have dental training and you are thinking about volunteering it will be the best opportunity for you. Even if you are still a student you will gain knowledge and experience.

ENVIROMENTAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT;

In this project you will be connected with schools and child care centers. The goal of this project is to make the centers self sustaining, so we create vegetable gardens, small farms animals such as hen, chickens, maybe cows or goats, planting trees, etc. These centers can also make an income and sell their yields. Everybody is accepted in this project but if you have studies or/and experience and you want to put it in practice, you will be more than welcome!!

VILLAGE VISITING / RURAL PROGRAM

The Rural program supports teaching English and mathematics. In the village, they do not learn English at schools, and students need to learn English for their national exams. Schools that lack English classes depend upon volunteers to teach English, writing and mathematics. If you have ever thought about this, now is the right moment to do it.

CONTRUCTIONS WORKS;

Construction and renovation projects are suitable for all volunteers who are skilled and experienced and would like to use their knowledge on site and pass it on to local craftsmen. We almost always have small renovation or construction needs in at least one project, so volunteers in this area are always welcome. If you have specific skills, please contact us directly so that we can find a suitable place for you to work. Participation in construction projects is only possible after a successful fundraising campaign. Building materials are much cheaper in Tanzania than in western countries, so a lot can be achieved with comparatively little.

SUMMER CAMP EVERYDAY AT 4PM TO 6PM;

We welcome our volunteers to assist in after school sports. We have sports programs offered from 4pm to 6pm seven days a week at our school center. Many volunteers enjoy taking some time in the afternoon from their normal volunteer sites to spend some time running, playing and laughing with the local children.

ANIMAL WELFARE

This is an amazing opportunity to help animals in the community while working to change locals’ view of how to treat these sweet creatures. Our project is all about changing this way of thinking and helping as many dogs and cats, who mostly are in the streets, as we can. You will work alongside local vetrinarians in a local animal shelter helping the animals while they recover from injuries or illness, administering vaccines, and providing general care. You will not be asked to perform any duties outside of your skills or capabilities. You may also spend your time doing outreach based work, where you can visit pet owners at home to administer vaccines with the vet, while educating the community on humane animal treatment and rescue animals. The local animal population continues to climb, which means the work in the area continues to mount.

ALL volunteers in this selection are required to have their full rabies vaccination series.

It is important to note that the animal shelter is roughly 1 hour by public transport from the hostile. A normal day at the shelter starts around 9 in the morning, which means you will need to depart at 8am.

Volunteers who choose this placement do not need any prior experience, nevertheless basic English knowledge, and the openness to love animals is required. In addition, you should not be afraid of dogs and dirt because you will for sure be interacting with dogs and will definitely get dirty!
