EXPECTED PROJECT IMPACT

Even though the UN’s Millennium Development Goal is to eradicate extreme poverty by half (50%) in the upcoming years, it is envisaged that this will only be achieved through the provision of Education for all which is a sector wide approach. The project will work towards an eventual and longer term for education in relation to food security for children at school and poverty reduction among the communities as a result of children going to school and return their homes for the future of their families.

Children who are often the most vulnerable to shocks will at the end of the project be able to carry out role of education to their lives to diversify their livelihoods from total dependence on one side of mode economy to a more diversified and less risk dependent economy in the future.

It is expected that less fortunate and underprivileged families in socio-economic welfare indicators will improve because of enlightens of education. These will be in regard to reproductive health, food security, literacy, household income levels and empowerment of children and women.

The behaviours of the communities is also expected to change in the long term such that they recognize that when children are empowered in education, economically later and socially, the gains have immediate impacts at the household level and in the community as a whole.
